At 16:54 hrs the Chester Box Alarm was dispatched to 2126 West 9th Street for a building fire with entrapment. Chester-11 arrived on location and reported heavy fire 1st floor rear side 4 of the structure. Chester-11 was then advised by CPD that all occupants were out and the medics were transporting the owner to CCMC to be checked out. The 2nd alarm was then struck.
On the 2nd Alarm was Tower 61, Rescue 45 (Parkside) for the Rapid Intervention Team, Rescue 52 (Brookhaven), & Canteen 47 (Chester Twp)
Engine 83 arrived on location and secured a water supply and went in-service with an 1¾” hand line. Engine 82 arrived and pulled a backup line while the Tower crew conducted searches and provided ventilation. Tower 61 arrived and immediately was ordered to check the exposure building. After that was completed, the crew from the Tower assisted interior crews of the main fire building with checking for extension. The 2nd Alarm companies operated on scene for about 1 hour then was released. Good job to all units who operated on the fireground.
