Today the Tower along with Engine 68 (MHTFD), & Rescue 39 (Lower Chi) covered Sta. 81 (Chester FD) while they held the funeral of our fallen brother Tony Cox. The crews covered for 8 hours.

Around 1400, just as the funeral procession started to get underway, the City covers received a call to 936 Highland for a box Alarm. 81’s covers along with the covers from Sta. 82 which consisted of Tac 45 (Parkside), Rescue 52 (Brookhaven), Ladder 65 (Garden City), & Engine 12 (Eddystone) as the Rapid Intervention Team responded on the box.

C/11 B (Capasso) arrived and found a 3 story duplex with fire showing side C & D on the 3rd Floor and established command. C/11 A (Bolgunas) arrived & was the operations.

Tac 45 arrived and went in service with handlines. The Tower arrived & staged on Grace St. and started throwing ground ladders in the rear. The crew from the Tower along with Ladder 65’s crew went to the roof and cut a hole on the 3rd floor side C/D. after that was complete the crew went inside and assisted with overhaul. The crews from 68 & 39 assisted with checking for extension and overhaul operations. Units operated on scene for about 1 ½ hours. Good job to all units who operated on the fireground.

After the call was over the Tower returned to Station 61.
